An Open Letter to My 19 year old self

Another year around the sun, what a blessing! Diana, this day is always like every normal day to you. You never make it a big deal, because you didn't grow up throwing parties or eating cake on this day. But you are always happy just like every other day. I guess you can say you celebrate your birthday every day since God is always great to put you on his wake-up list and blessing you. But if you still haven't noticed making a big deal out of things isn't really your vibe. I decided to write you 19 things about anything...

1. You are a God-blessed miracle! Never forget that.

2. You are a mess that can never be cleaned, but princess you are okay with it.

3. I don't think anyone can understand how proud you are to be Kenyan

4. Be your own fan. The best compliment is the one you give yourself

5. Girlll, you is so funny, you literally laugh at your own jokes

6. Honestly, African food over any other food

7. I won't be surprised if you traded your iPhone for a flip-phone

8. Independent is how you grew up, but remember its okay to ask for help sometimes

9. There are so many things I love about you but your smile is at the top of my list

10. You hate being put in a box

11. I have realized your most said catchphrase this year is 'beggars can't be chooser'

12. You are too blessed to be stressed, so you say 'just chill' a lot

13. You enjoy being different

14. You talk too much...everyone can prove it

15. Who invented the celebration birthday?

16. So, is it true you are giving up coffee like you gave up caring for foolish nonsense?

17. Your beauty can't change the world, but your knowledge can

18. God has a plan for you, so keep your faith strong because remember everything works for His good

19. You are truly blessed even though sometimes it's a little hard to see

Siku njema ya kuzaliwa African Queen!
